Mrs. Debra Hanson graduated from Cumberland College (now University of the Cumberlands) in Williamsburg, Kentucky, with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Her major was English with a minor in speech/theater. She has taught junior high and high school English/language arts (along with other subjects) for over 20 years in Christian Schools in Florida, Texas, and here in Topeka. In addition to teaching, she has been a ministry/staff/pastor’s wife, serving alongside her husband in churches in Kentucky, Florida, Texas, Kansas and South Dakota. She is married to Bob Hanson, and they have two married daughters and eight grandchildren. During the last ten years of her spiritual journey, God placed her as assistant manager at LifeWay Christian Store in

Topeka, and after it closed, she became the primary caregiver for her mother-in-law. She is looking forward to this new season of teaching and the opportunity that Heritage Christian School has provided her to invest in lives for the future.
